THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT FOR THIS EVENT! OUR KARATE KIDS HAD A GREAT TIME AND IT WAS A FUN GATHERING FOR ALL WHO ATTENDED! All of Team Kowkabany’s Karate Kids, Tigers and Adult students, AND their families and friends, are invited to join us at Kowkabany’s Family Martial Arts Center in Tampa, Florida on Tuesday, October 30th, at 6:30 for our Halloween Celebration of Trunk-or-Treat! If you aren’t familiar with Trunk-or-Treat, that’s OK, we just discovered it a couple of years ago from a fellow ATA Martial Arts school in Miami. Here’s how it works, what you should bring, when classes will be held, and what we’ll do. First, we encourage everyone to arrive in a costume, as it’s simply more FUN that way!! Anyone wishing to trick-or-treat from car-to-car should also bring a treat bag! We will have a costume contest for the different age groups! Second, spend some time decorating your trunk, hatchback, or even the bed of your truck!! Of course you’ll need to bring some candy to hand out to the trunk-or-treaters who will be coming down our sidewalk. We’d guesstimate about 50 – 70 kids! We will have prizes for the best decorated vehicles! We will have everyone with a decorated trunk back-up to the sidewalk that goes around the building, and the kids will go from vehicle to vehicle trick-or-treating. Don’t worry, we’ll also have goody bags for the kids to take home with them, so they should leave with plenty of candy! Third, please bring a dish or snack to share, as whenever Team Kowkabany gathers for a social event, we like to have food on hand! There is a sign-up sheet for what you will bring in the office! Simple finger foods and snacks are fine, but if you want to make-up something ghoulish, that is all part of the fun! We anticipate starting at 6:30, and ending around 8:30. There will be a few lessons offered earlier in the day, but none after the party. Here is our schedule for Tuesday the 30th: 4:00 Tiny Tigers Class 4:30 Karate Kids Class (All Ranks) 5:15 – 6:00 Family Class 6:30 – 8:30 Halloween Party! Trunk-or-Treat! Costume Contest! Prizes! Fun! Fellowship! On Wednesday (the following day), you are encouraged to enjoy Halloween at home with your family and nieghbors. Due to historically extremely-low attendance on Halloween Day, we will not offer martial arts lessons on the actual holiday this year. Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask. We’ve posted a few pictures to give you some ideas of ways to decorate, (we’ve heard that Walmart has a trunk-or-treat kit), but feel free to use your imagination! Remember, we’ll have some young Karate Kids on hand (as young as 3), so please don’t make anything too intense. We hope to see everyone there!!
